“First, how does one get lost? And then, how do they recognize that they are lost? What does one lose when they are lost? Can one be lost without being defeated? What do the wayward do when they are decidedly lost, to communicate that they have become lost? And, when one wishes to be found, will Anybody find them? What signal will reach Anybody? Will lostness spread through the layers of a place, so that one is lost in the language of placement?”
In a measured departure form their typical practice, UWHAH used the services available through Gallery 295 to produce their first exhibition of photographs. These new works are documentation of archetypal wilderness signals that the artists created in attempt to communicate not only with each other, but with the encountering world, Anybody.
